This year marks the 60th Anniversary of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. As we approach the upcoming Congressional Black Caucus 2024 53rd Annual Legislative Conference.
It is crucial that we come together to honor and serve our elders who were the FREEDOM Fighters & Civil Rights Pioneers of the New Orleans & Louisiana Resistance Movement. We need your support to ensure that we cover all the costs for our living legends to travel to Washington D.C. on the 60th anniversary FREEDOM Train Ride!
We must celebrate our elders now because the Civil Rights Act of 1964 is a direct result of every FREEDOM Ride, every sit-in, every arrest, every physical beating, denial of access and the emotional trauma they suffer from til this day. Their valiant death defying sacrifice brought forth this landmark legislation.
Our great elders want to be a part of this movement to Get Out The VOTE. We're calling on everyone who is primed to support the FREEDOM Train Ride! We just need an extra push to make this happen.

New Orleans Legacy Project
Commemorating the Anniversary of Desegregation and the New Orleans Resistance Movement
Celebration - Tribute 3 Part Series | 45 min Episodes | HD
Logline: Sunni Patterson hosts The New Orleans Legacy Project docuseries to honor and celebrate four little soldier girls and the powerful freedom fighters of the New Orleans & Louisiana Resistance Movement who moved before them and with them.
Synopsis: The New Orleans Four (Leona Tate, Ruby Bridges, Gail Etienne and Tessie Prevost) are the 6-year-old little soldier girls who became the LEGACY of the New Orleans & Louisiana Resistance Movement. As a part of the Anniversary of Desegregation, this docuseries tribute and celebration tells the story of the movement and how they became the youngest emissaries to execute desegregating schools in New Orleans.
On November 14, 1960, they became the first African American girls to defy the Jim Crow law of the land in the Deep South when they took those tiny giant steps to integrate white only public elementary schools. They rocked the nation and moved the world and brought it home for the first Freedom Rider Homer Plessy.
